Contemporary artist James Bates finds inspiration in the most unlikely of places: from junk shops to Disney films, scrap-heaps to sketch books, Bates' wide artistic scope is reflected in his multi-media art pieces, which range from illustration to animation, advertising to graphic design. Bates' aesthetic is singular: his prints are bold and fearless, mindful of composition and colour in a striking way.
